Register your entity
Your Principal Entity ID identifies your business to the network. Everything else, the chain, your sender IDs and your templates, hangs off it.
Where registration happens
On a DLT portal run by one of the operators: Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL. You register directly with them.
Pick one and stay on it. Registering on several creates several entity IDs to keep in step and gives you nothing in return; the registration propagates to all operators regardless of which portal you used.
Nobody can register on your behalf
The registry records your business as the sender, so the registration must be made by you, with your documents. Any provider offering to do it for you is either using their own entity, which means the messages are not attributed to you, or asking for credentials they should not have.
What you will need
- Your company PAN
- GST registration, where you have one
- A letter of authorisation, on your letterhead, for the person registering
- A company email address on your own domain, since free email domains are usually refused
Verification typically takes a day or two.
Adding it to the panel
Open Entities in the panel
Add a new entity.
Enter the 19-digit Principal Entity ID
Exactly as the portal shows it, digits only.
Say which portal it came from
Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL. We use this to tell you where to go for the chain step.
Enter the legal name it was registered under
The registered name, not a trading name, so the two can be matched.
The entity starts as unbound, meaning the chain has not been declared yet. That is the expected state for a new entity and the next step is Chain declaration.
More than one entity
A group with several registered legal entities can hold several here. Each carries its own chain state, sender IDs and templates, and they do not share.
Most customers have exactly one, and if you are unsure whether you need a second, you do not.
Entity states
An entity that goes back to unbound or is rejected carries a note saying what was wrong. The usual cause is a chain with the right telemarketer IDs in the wrong order.
